Potential Brighton exit worth €5-6m – Contract situation makes negotiations easier

Tyrique Lamptey’s potential move from Brighton and Hove Albion to Fiorentina would be valued at around €5-6m.

That’s according to journalist Alfredo Pedullà, [via Labaro Viola](https://www.labaroviola.com/pedulla-lamptey-puo-arrivare-alla-fiorentina-per-5-6-milioni-fortini-puo-partire-in-prestito/311269/), who reports that the full back is a concrete target for the Italian side.

The same journalist reported earlier today that Fiorentina had turned their attention to Lamptey this summer and talks were ongoing about a potential exit from Brighton.

He’s now followed that up with more information about the potential move during an appearance on the YouTube and Twitch channels for Passione Fiorentina.

“Let’s start with Lamptey; he’s a concrete target,” he is quoted as saying.

“Let’s see if the deal can be finalized quickly. He grew up at Chelsea and has a strong foot, like Dodò. His expiring contract with Brighton makes negotiations easier; two other clubs are interested in him. We’re looking at a valuation of around €5-6 million.”

We had pointed out in our initial report that a move this summer would be eyebrow raising given that Lamptey only signed a new deal at Brighton this summer. His previous contract had been expiring this year before that.

The new deal was only a one-year extension, though, and it now appears Brighton might have taken that out to ensure they could get a fee for him this summer.

At €5-6m it would be surprising if the two other interested clubs aren’t from the Premier League, with the likes of Everton linked earlier this year when his contract was expiring.

Either way, the Brighton man is certainly a name to keep an eye on before the end of the transfer window, with Fiorentina currently at the front of the queue.
