Burnley winger Luca Koleosho has been treated to a special welcome by his new Espanyol teammates as he joined them for training today.
[El 1900 cover the situation today](https://el1900.com/luca-koleosho-entrena-con-espanyol-llegar-reale-arena/), explaining that Koleosho trained with Espanyol today after arriving on loan from Burnley this week. He is hoping to be a part of the squad for the clash with Real Sociedad this weekend.
The winger has already spoken about his delight at moving to the Spanish club, admitting it felt like returning home.
He previously came through Espanyol’s youth ranks, playing for the U18s, U19s and B side before making six appearances in the first team. He then joined Burnley in 2023in a €3m deal.
He’s now returned, partly thanks to the two clubs now sharing an ownership, as he seeks regular playing time and the opportunity to bounce back from an injury which ended his campaign last year.
It seems there was no warm welcome back to Espanyol for him, though, with El 100 explaining that he was treated to a special and emotional reunion in which the squad welcomed him back by making him run through a tunnel of players, who all slapped him on the back as he passed.
Espanyol even posted a short video of the little moment on their account on X, before the serious work of training got underway.
The hope is that any more slaps on the back this season are for a job well done, with Koleosho determined to make his mark this season.
