Former Alabama star, NFL running back arrested on multiple charges

Former Alabama star running back T.J. Yeldon, who went on to play in the NFL for six seasons, was arrested this past weekend on multiple charges, according to Fox 10 News in Mobile, Ala.

Yeldon was charged with third-degree domestic violence, third-degree criminal mischief and interfering with a domestic violence call, Fox 10 News reports.

Per the report, deputies responded to a call about a potential domestic violence incident between a male and female on Saturday, Aug. 16 at approximately 1 a.m.

Deputies stated that when they arrived to the scene, the male turned off the lights at his house and refused to open the door. Deputies then tried to make force entry, and at that point the subject opened the door and was detained.

Investigators eventually arrested the male subject, who was identified as Timothy “T.J.” Yeldon.

The female subject, who called about the incident, told police that she locked herself in the bedroom to try and get away from Yeldon, before he allegedly started trying to get into the room.

T.J. Yeldon played at Alabama from 2012-14, rushing for more than 3,300 yards across his three seasons. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry and ran for 37 touchdowns during his time with the Crimson Tide.

Yeldon was then drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons with the Jaguars, before playing two seasons with the Bills. He rushed for 2,005 yards and six touchdowns during his six-year NFL career, while averaging 4.1 yards per carry.
