The Golden State Warriors have repeatedly inquired about trading for LeBron James over the past 18 months, though the Lakers star—who has a no-trade clause—is expected to remain in Los Angeles for the final year of his contract.
The Golden State Warriors have reportedly reached out to the Los Angeles Lakers several times in hopes of trading for LeBron James.
"I'm told that the Warriors have called the Lakers on multiple occasions over the past 18 months to see whether there is any trade pathway to pairing LeBron James with Stephen Curry," NBA insider Jake Fischer wrote on Substack.
Roughly a year ago, Steph and LeBron led Team USA to a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
According to Fischer, James and Curry enjoyed playing together during Team USA's gold-medal run, with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also serving as their Olympic coach.
James holds a no-trade clause in his contract and is set to earn $52.6 million next season, the final year of his deal with the Lakers. He is expected to remain in Los Angeles when training camp opens this fall.

Since joining the Lakers in 2018, James has led the franchise to the 2020 championship.
The four-time NBA champion has also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers (in two stints) and the Miami Heat. Across 22 seasons, he owns career averages of 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists.
