Liverpool have been rather dominant in the transfer market this summer, with the Reds often beating their rivals to their desired targets.
For example, when Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz, they managed to fend off both Manchester City and Bayern Munich to acquire his services, which shows how impressive their project must be.
Since then, several other players have also been brought in, such as Hugo Ekitike, who had plenty of potential suitors lined up this summer.
Indeed, the Reds’ Premier League title win last term likely did most of the convincing, but the number of players they’ve managed to bring in this summer is incredibly impressive.

However, one of their rumoured targets could now be on his way to one of the Reds’ rivals.
Angelo Stiller has been put on Manchester United’s shortlist this summer
At the start of the summer, fans wanted to see a new defensive midfielder brought in to help cover that role with Ryan Gravenberch.
One player that continually seemed to crop up was Angelo Stiller.
The young German has been highly sought-after this summer after his rather impressive 2024-25 campaign for Stuttgart.

Now, however, as per a report from journalist Ben Jacobs via his personal X account, Manchester United have added him to their shortlist.
“One of the midfielders on Manchester United’s list of options is Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller,” he wrote.
“No guarantee anything develops, or that any midfielder arrives, but internal discussions taking place over different targets.
“Stiller has come up in discussions as Manchester United now decide whether to sign another midfielder before the window shuts.”

Angelo Stiller would have been the perfect midfielder for Liverpool
As mentioned, early on in the summer transfer window, Liverpool were the ones leading the race for Stiller.
A fee worth around £25million was quoted for the German back in December, which makes him a far cheaper option than someone such as Carlos Baleba, for example.
Stiller’s addition would also provide some extra cover for defensive midfield and perhaps even allow Gravenberch to have the odd bit of rest here and there.
Previously, Stiller has been compared with Joshua Kimmich and with the Reds’ past of wanting the Bayern Munich man, it’s evident why a move makes sense.

The German already has four caps for the German national team; it’s clear that he’s ready for a move, should one come along.
Of course, these are all just rumours at the moment, but if Liverpool are serious about bringing in another defensive midfielder, they can’t allow Stiller to join Man United this summer.
