'Here we go' - Fabrizio Romano says Everton have agreed £42m+ deal to sign 'special' forward

Everton have agreed a deal with Southampton to sign forward Tyler Dibling, GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Toffees have been looking to add to their forward department all summer for manager David Moyes, and so far have been able to bring in Thierno Barry from Villarreal and Jack Grealish on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The Friedkin Group had also been looking at a deal for the Saints teenager for much of the summer and had a number of bids rejected, but they have now been able to secure a deal for one of England's hottest prospects.

Dibling, who has been described as 'special', had been expected to leave St Mary's all summer following Southampton's relegation to the Championship.

Everton had a £27m bid rejected followed by an offer worth in excess of £30m turned down, before the club began to look at alternative options instead due to the gap in valuations.

But now it can be revealed that the Toffees have found an agreement worth £42m including add-ons, plus a sell-on clause to Southampton which will likely see the south-coast club receive a fee closer to their initial valuation.

Dibling has already agreed a long-term contract with the Merseyside Blues and the formal steps will follow in the coming days, with a medical and paperwork to be completed.

It's possible that the 19-year-old could be present for the club's first game of the season at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday when they take on Brighton in the Premier League, although he will be ineligible to play even if he has signed before then.

Everton have also added Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Adam Aznou, Mark Travers and made Carlos Alcaraz's loan move permanent this summer, but Moyes is still keen to add more before the September 1st deadline.
