What Josh Kroenke did immediately after some people at Arsenal raised concerns about Eberechi Eze deal - insider

Arsenal fans have always had a tricky relationship with their owners, the Kroenkes.

KSE, owned by Stan Kroenke and his son Josh, have been the custodians of the Gunners for many years now, and they have done some things that have caused uproar among the fan base.

However, in recent seasons, the Kroenkes have done a lot of good work as well, and that has helped Arsenal become one of the best teams in the world.

Now, Josh Kroenke has done something to help in the Eberechi Eze deal, and Arsenal fans will love it.

The key role Josh Kroenke played in the Eberechi Eze to Arsenal deal

It looked almost certain that Eberechi Eze would join Tottenham just a few days ago.

Spurs seemed to be in a one-horse race to sign the Englishman and had even agreed terms with Crystal Palace and the player.

However, Kai Havertz suffered an injury earlier in the week, and that forced Arsenal to dive back into the transfer market.

Eze was identified as the target, and Andrea Berta and Arsenal’s vice-chair Tim Lewis used their relationships to complete the hijack.

However, Arsenal insider Hand of Arsenal has revealed that some people within the club raised concerns regarding the implications of the Eze deal on PSR.

That’s when Josh Kroenke stepped in and fully backed Mikel Arteta’s wish to get this deal done.

Hand of Arsenal’s tweet reads: “Tim Lewis and Steve Parish (Crystal Palace chairman) share a long-standing excellent relationship and have worked on multiple football-related projects.

“Did Parish stall the Eze deal the last 48 hours after covert conversations? Frankly, some things are better left for folklore.

“Andrea Berta built a fantastic relationship with the Eze camp over the last 6-8 weeks. I am sure that will come out sooner or later.

“Josh being in the UK helped massively as Mikel and Andrea delivered an undeniable pitch in person. While some at the club raised PSR concerns, Josh stood firmly with Arteta. Green light was given, and Tim Lewis/Parish and Berta/Eze’s agents completed the greatest hijack in recent times.”

The Kroenkes have fully backed Mikel Arteta and Arsenal

A lot has been said about the Kroenkes not backing Arteta in transfer windows over the years, and on many occasions, that’s a fair criticism.

However, since the start of this summer, the Arsenal manager’s wishes have been fulfilled.

The Gunners have signed six new players already, with Eze all set to become the seventh once the formalities of his deal are completed.

All of those transfers have been sanctioned without any significant money coming in through player sales, and the Kroenkes deserve a lot of praise for that.

Now, it’s up to Arteta to use these new signings in the best way possible to achieve great things at Arsenal this season.
