Nicolas Jackson’s future has been a massive talking point since the start of the summer. While he was an integral part of Enzo Maresca’s plans last season, a lot has changed since. The Senegalese international has gone down the pecking order, and Chelsea are ready to cash in on him.
Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Bayern Munich have all emerged as potential destinations for the 24-year-old striker. According to Fabrizio Romano, Unai Emery is pushing Aston Villa to sign Jackson. The Spanish manager wants to ensure Villa beat both Newcastle and Bayern to his signature.
After coming up the ranks at Villarreal and making a name for himself while playing for their first team, Jackson joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023. He was a key figure in their team until last season, but his performances haven’t convinced people at the club.
He was involved in 37 matches across competitions and could only manage 13 goals. The Blues were not certain about him being their number nine going forward; as a result, they ended up signing Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in the summer.
Jackson to leave Chelsea
Following their arrival, Jackson has gone down the pecking order, and he is now surplus to requirements. As a result, Chelsea are ready to cash in on him, and Romano suggests his departure is all but certain.
