Liverpool have sanctioned another loan move for exciting young forward Lewis Koumas, who will spend the campaign with Birmingham in the Championship.
Koumas made 49 appearances on loan with Stoke in the second tier last season, and can look to produce another impressive run of form this time around.
The 19-year-old was briefly involved with Arne Slot‘s first team in their summer preparations, but an ongoing role with Liverpool’s U21s made clear he needed another move this summer.
That comes with a season-loan switch to Birmingham City, who are contenders for promotion to the Premier League next season amid increased investment.
This Is Anfield understands Liverpool have agreed a straight loan deal with the Midlands side, who will not have a purchase clause for Wales international Koumas.
Instead the intention will be for the teenager to return to Merseyside next summer before any decision is made over his long-term future.

Club officials will monitor his progress throughout the campaign, with it not impossible that Koumas returns in 2026 capable of stepping up to Slot’s senior squad.
Koumas was subject of widespread interest this summer, for both loan and permanent deals, and Birmingham beat the likes of Wrexham, Hull, Norwich, Preston, Oxford United and Sevilla to his signature.
Liverpool now have seven players out on loan for the season and that is expected to increase before the transfer deadline.
James McConnell, Kaide Gordon, Calvin Ramsay and Jayden Danns are among those who will be considered for an exit ahead of September 1.
