West Ham suffered a humiliating defeat against rivals Chelsea at the London Stadium on Friday night.

Lucas Paqueta opened the scoring for the hosts, but the Blues responded with five goals to win the game 5-1.

Given West Ham’s 3-0 loss to Sunderland and now a four-goal defeat, they sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with a -7 goal difference.

Niclas Fullkrug found the back of the net at the London Stadium, but his goal was rightly chalked off for offside.

Lucas Paqueta scores wonder goal for West Ham

Paqueta led the home fans to believe that there was going to be an upset on the cards.

The Brazilian found himself in acres of space ahead of the halfway line and ran towards the Chelsea box.

Before entering the box, he fired a powerful effort with his left foot and that shot found its way into the back of the net.

Even apart from the goal, he tried to make things happen in the final third and was accurate with his passes as he looked to bring the other players into the game.

Paqueta has been linked with a West Ham exit and given how the rest of his side performed in comparison to him, he may reconsider his stay in East London.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka at fault for three goals

For Chelsea’s opener, Joao Pedro seemed to have an open header from a corner despite two Hammers players being next to him.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka did not even make an attempt to jump for the ball and allowed the former Brighton striker to find the back of the net.

For Chelsea’s second, he did not close down Pedro Neto as he played a cross into the box and then switched off at the back post when the ball came in from the other side to allow the visitors to take a 2-1 lead.

Even for the third goal, he could have marked our outmuscled Enzo Fernandez, who scored a tap-in despite the former Manchester United defender being right on his toes.

It certainly was an evening to forget for the 27-year-old.
