Fulham are back in talks with Arsenal over a possible deal for Reiss Nelson.
The Cottagers have had a quiet transfer window, and they have not made an outfield signing thus far.
That is bound to change in the coming days, and journalist Miguel Delaney claims that the Cottagers are ‘back in talks’ with Arsenal about a loan move for Nelson.
Aside from the Cottagers’ interest, nothing else is specified.
Arsenal should seek conditional buy obligation clause
Nelson has fallen out-of-favour at Arsenal over the past few years. He spent the previous campaign on loan with Fulham where he made only 13 appearances.
The 25-year-old started to become a regular starter under head coach Marco Silva, but he unfortunately picked up a season-ending hamstring injury.
He showed plenty of promise during his stint, and there are no surprises that the Cottagers are weighing up a fresh loan deal for the Gunners graduate.
Arsenal seem open to sanctioning another short-term move for Nelson, but they should demand Fulham to include a buy obligation based on conditions.
In that way, the club would be assured a reasonable sum for the £14 million-rated star if he were to make a good impression at the west London outfit.
Arsenal are set for a busy end to the summer transfer window. They have already loaned out goalkeeper Karl Hein to Werder Bremen for the ongoing campaign.
Jakub Kiwior, Fabio Vieira, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Albert Sambi Lokonga could also head for the exit door alongside Nelson before the transfer deadline.
Kiwior and Vieira are on the radar of Porto and Stuttgart respectively. Zinchenko is a target for Fenerbahce, while PAOK are eyeing a deal for Lokonga.
