Chelsea fans add to Graham Potter's woes with brilliant chant during West Ham win

Chelsea picked up their first win of the season after beating West Ham United 5-1 at the London Stadium on Friday night.

Enzo Maresca‘s side drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace last Sunday, but they were able to claim all three points against West Ham after goals from Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah.

Ultimately, it was a night for Graham Potter to forget, with Chelsea supporters really rubbing salt in the wound.

Next up for Chelsea is a third consecutive London derby, with the Club World Cup winners welcoming Fulham to Stamford Bridge next Saturday.

Chelsea fans mock Graham Potter

Potter, of course, had a short spell as Chelsea manager during the 2022/23 season before he was sacked. And after his struggles in west London, it would be accurate to say that the 50-year-old did not leave a good impression on supporters.

They had little sympathy for their former boss during West Ham’s hammering at the London Stadium, mockingly chanting “there’s only one Graham Potter” as Chelsea ran riot.

Before the match, Potter praised his former club. When Potter talked about Chelsea, he hailed them as a “top team”.

Things could have been much worse for Potter had Cole Palmer played. Palmer was withdrawn from the starting XI after feeling something in the warm up.

Graham Potter couldn’t come up with plan to stop Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian

While Palmer did not play, Chelsea’s attack was still very dangerous. Estevao Willian came in for the Englishman, and Potter could not find a way to contain him or Joao Pedro.

Pedro netted in the victory at the London Stadium, while Estevao was able to register an assist.

Before Chelsea’s victory over West Ham, Arsenal legend and Blues supporter Paul Merson made it clear that he wanted to see Liam Delap start up front and got his wish.

After Pedro struggled to make an impact against Palace, Merson urged Maresca to start Delap.

Chelsea signed Delap from Ipswich Town for just £30m in a move that has contributed to Nicolas Jackson being ostracised.
