Annual Welcome Back Packers Luncheon hosted by the Greater Green Bay Chamber

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Chamber held their traditional welcome back luncheon for the Packers on Friday.

The annual event has been around for more than 60 years, with more than 1,100 people attending this year’s luncheon.

It signals the start of the season, and Packer fans in attendance rubbed elbows with players and coaches at their table and even had a chance to win some raffle tickets while they ate lunch.

“It’s a sold-out event so they’ll be a waiting list again next year and I think it just build the momentum, and they network with other fans,” said Laurie Radke, CEO of Greater Green Bay Chamber.

The annual Welcome Back Packers Luncheon is a partnership with the Greater Green Bay Chamber and the Packers. Some players keep up the costume tradition, dressing up as rock stars.

This year honors tight end Tucker Kraft for being a rock star in the community. Officials with the Chamber say this event is special.

“The Packers give back so much. This is so special, no other team does this for their community,” said Radke.

The money goes to the Chamber Foundation, where they use the money for talent education and economic development.
