From Manchester United’s point of view, spending €8.5m on Bright Ede could be sensible, as the squad might need a fresh young defender to build the squad for the future. However, it’s a definite thing that the Polish centre-back might not be a straightaway fit for the Premier League. The 18-year-old will need time to settle in the club, but for now, it seems like it’s just a normal query from us, and nothing concrete.
From Bright Ede’s point of view, a move to United would be a huge prestige opportunity, but regular playing time is not guaranteed, which he needs at this moment in his career. So, it is obviously an exciting thing that we have an interest in such a young centre-back, given that we have Harry Maguire, who is past 32, and might still move on at the end of the season.
