West Ham United 1-5 Chelsea: Chelsea Post Match Player Ratings

Chelsea are up and running in the Premier League - going top as things stand after a 5-1 demolition of London rivals West Ham.

Lucas Paqueta put the Hammers ahead in style, and could have added a second through Niclas Füllkrug - though the striker was caught just offside.

The Blues targeted their opponents from set-pieces and were wholly successful, with Joao Pedro, Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah all scoring from corners.

Wingers Pedro Neto and Estevao also made light work of the space in behind, with Neto scoring at the far post and Estevao producing a brilliant run and assist for Enzo Fernandez.

Chelsea were utterly clinical - netting five from just seven shots on target. It will highlight glaring issues for Graham Potter's side, who have conceded a staggering eight goals in their opening two league games.

Here is how every Chelsea player rated:

Starting Line-Up

Robert Sanchez - 7

Flapped aimlessly at Paqueta's opener, but given the quality of the shot, he can be forgiven. An otherwise quiet evening for Chelsea's number one.

Malo Gusto - 7

Preferred to Reece James for this game and added extra width down the right flank. A free-roaming full-back, he regularly made strides into midfield and towards the left hand side to offer a passing option.

Trevoh Chalobah - 8

Keeps his place in the Blues defence, and for good reason - a calm and measured performance. Always looking to progress the ball forward and kept West Ham's attacking duo marked and occupied. Got on the scoresheet, scoring Chelsea's fifth goal.

Tosin Adarabioyo - 7.5

A welcome return to the Chelsea team for Tosin, who offered a more physical presence and helped to nullify the treat of Füllkrug. The most accurate passer on the pitch. Maturing into a solid centre-back for the club.

Marc Cucurella - 7

A good flick-on from a corner which found Joao Pedro. Often required to carry out more defensive duties, especially whenever Gusto advanced forward.

Moises Caicedo - 8

A great performance to cap his 100th Chelsea appearance in all competitions. Regularly slotted into the back four to disrupt West Ham's press and offer more defensive stability. Added a goal to mark the occasion in the second half, reacting quickest from a corner after Mads Hermansen had spilled the initial cross.

Enzo Fernandez - 7

Looked more effective when making late box crashes rather than trying to build from a deeper role alongside Caicedo. Opened his account for the season with a simple tap in goal.

Estêvão - 7.5

A few lapses in concentration, and turned over possession to the Hammers which resulted in the opening goal. Nonetheless, a stellar showing from the young Brazilian who was called upon late to replace the injured Cole Palmer. A beautiful run and assist which set up Enzo's goal.

Pedro Neto - 8

An underrated showing for the winger. Arrived at the back post to give the Blues the lead in the game, and held onto the ball well whenever he looked to bomb down the left flank. Moved to the right in the latter stages of the game.

Joao Pedro - 9

Could prove to be one of Chelsea's most important signings this season. Deployed alongside Delap for the first time, Pedro was proactive and energetic, nabbing a goal and assist for his efforts. Fantastic in build-up, he dropped deeper to unlock West Ham's defence on several occasions.

Liam Delap - 7.5

Might not have gotten on the scoresheet, but did a lot of the dirty work required to free up Chelsea's attack. Some brilliant off the ball runs and physicality to create chances - used as a hold up player against the Hammers' back three.

Substitutes

Andrey Santos - 7

Continues to make a push into the first team and was placed in a more attacking midfield role, which he struggled with at times.

Reece James - 8

Unbelievable vision and pass accuracy to find Estevao in behind with his first few touches. A confident and impressive showing from the Chelsea captain, who will hope to maintain his match fitness this season.

Wesley Fofana - 7

A long-overdue league return for Fofana, who slotted nicely into the right hand side of a makeshift back three. Gave away a risky free kick after catching Ward-Prowse on the edge of the Chelsea box.

Jorrel Hato - 6.5

Given his Chelsea debut. Couldn't keep Bowen under control as effectively as Cucurella and recieved a booking.

Jamie Gittens - 6.5

Struggled to make much of an impact on the ball as the game died down.
