Player ratings: Five star Chelsea DESTROY West Ham at the London stadium

WOW! What a 5 star performance that was! Chelsea pick up their first win of the 25/26 to fully kickstart their season. A sluggish 10 minutes then turned into a battering in favour for us to put West Ham in their place.

A confident 40 minutes has given fans belief and confidence to kick on for this season. A controlled and professional performance has restored fans belief and much more confidence going into games for the future.

Sanchez: 6.5

A shaky first five minutes but after that was very confident especially on the ball. The beat whether he could’ve done better for the West Ham goal remain to be discussed.

Gusto: 7

A very questionable pick from the start, but overall managed his side very well , nullified any threat from his side.

Chalobah: 9

Another great performance from our one centre back. Cool and composed of the boat and dealt with any threat especially aerially. A great take for his goal too to cap off a strong performance

Tosin: 7.5

A great start of the season for Tosin by managing and dictating playing out of the back as well as winning a lot of aerial and ground duels

Cucurella: 8

A strong performance especially nullifying West Hams biggest threat in Bowen. Impressive, especially with his ground duels and aggression.

Enzo: 8

This is a complete different Enzo to what we saw last week against Palace. Looks sharper, aggressive and his passing was definitely more intricate. A great run into the box and a solid finish

Caicedo: 9

A phenomenal standard Caicedo performance capped off with a cool and composed finished . Is it too early to call caicedo the best central midfielder in the world right now?

Pedro: 8.5

With Palmer being forced out, it was Pedro’s time to shine. And shine he did!! A great performance from our summer signing and a way different Joaa Pedro we have seen compared to last week.

Estevao: 7.5

Fair play to our mini magician for coming into the starting line up late and putting in a strong performance. Worked hard off and on the ball and provided a great assist to take the game away from West Ham. It is so exciting to see what Estevao can do for us throughout the season.

Neto: 9 (MOTM)

Absolute class from minute one to minute 90. World class work rate and penetrating attacks and absolutely did damage on both flanks. A worthy MOTM and have said on here before, this season we will see the best of Neto!

Delap: 6

A bit more quiet but got stuck in there and helped with sustaining attack attacks and holding the ball up. It’s a shame he didn’t pick up any goals or assist but still worked very hard for the team and allowed the players around him to do their damage

Subs:

Santos: 5.5

The physical battling side needs to improve but that’ll come over game time.

James: 7

What impressed me most about Reece James was his distribution and carrying of the ball through the heart of West Ham. May feel hard done by not to start but his minutes will always have to be managed

Hato: 6

Great to see Hato come on and keep the performance consistent with Cucurella coming off. He’s going to learn a lot off him

Gittens: N/A

Fofana: 7

Great to see Wes back playing! These minutes were crucial to kickstart a maintained long run into the team.

Maresca: 9

A very bold and risky lineup by putting Delap and Pedro together and smart thinking by starting Estevao and dealing with the late change of taking Palmer off. Interesting to see him put Gusto out a bit more wider which matched up to West Hams formation at times. Maresca ball was in full flow, especially the second half.
