SAINTS and Everton are close to agreeing a deal for the permanent transfer of starlet Tyler Dibling, the _Daily Echo_ understands.

The Toffees are close to matching Southampton’s valuation of the 19 year old England youth international, who has two years left on his contract.

The total package is expected to be more than £40million, with a significant sell-on clause to protect the club against Dibling’s expected development.

Saints rejected an earlier offer for Dibling from Everton previously in the window, but the Merseyside outfit returned to the table.

Dibling was left out of the Saints squad by boss Will Still for the first match of the Championship season while he trained individually as talks progressed.

After the move failed to materialise, Dibling returned to training and featured as a late substitute in last week’s 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town.

Everton are now expected to seal the transfer of the attacking midfielder, with new talks bringing the deal up to Southampton’s valuation.

Dibling broke into Southampton’s first team as a regular during the 2024/25 Premier League season, and went on to play 33 times.

Since making his debut against Gillingham in 2023, the teenager has played 44 times across all competitions, scoring four and providing three assists.
