Philadelphia Eagles add another player with Alabama football roots

Just when hundreds of players are about to leave NFL rosters, the Philadelphia Eagles added one on Friday.

Defensive end Jereme Robinson became the 16th player from an Alabama high school or college on the Eagles, the most in the NFL. An alumnus of Carver High School in Montgomery, Robinson joins Philadelphia after being waived by the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

Following five seasons at Kansas, Robinson joined the Chicago Bears on May 8 after being passed over in the 2025 NFL Draft. But the Bears waived Robinson on July 22. Chicago waived Robinson when it signed defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon, an eight-year NFL veteran.

The Patriots had signed Robinson on Aug. 10. He was on the field for two special-teams plays in New England’s 20-12 preseason victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday. The Patriots waived Robinson to sign former Auburn defensive tackle Philip Blidi.

The Eagles conclude their preseason schedule against the New York Jets at 6:30 p.m. CDT Friday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The other players on the Philadelphia roster from Alabama high schools and colleges include:

Jakorian Bennett, cornerback, McGill-Toolen

Reed Blankenship, safety, West Limestone

Jihaad Campbell, linebacker, Alabama

Landon Dickerson, guard, Alabama

Jalen Hurts, quarterback, Alabama

Cameron Latu, tight end, Alabama

Mac McWilliams, cornerback, UAB

Eli Ricks, cornerback, Alabama

Keilan Robinson, running back, Alabama

The Eagles signed Robinson after placing wide receiver Johnny Wilson on injured reserve on Friday. Wilson sustained a season-ending injury during practice this week.
