Suns’ Devin Booker still listed among elite at his position

Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker was listed among the top shooting guards in the NBA, per The Athletic’s Zach Harper.

Harper listed Booker as the second-best shooting guard in the NBA, only behind Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards.

There are plenty of instances where you can say Edwards, Booker and Mitchell are essentially lead guards, and it wouldn’t be wrong. I just think of them more as shooting guards who are toeing the fine line between those two guard positions.

Booker is coming off a season where he averaged 25.6 points (on 46.1% shooting), 4.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game. During the season, Booker passed Walter Davis on the Suns all-time scoring list.

Despite his efforts, the Suns went a disappointing 36-46 on the season and failed to make the postseason for the first since 2020.

How Devin Booker, Suns looks headed into 2025-26 season?

Booker, who will be entering his 11th season with the Suns next season, signed a two-year contract extension this offseason that will run through the 2029-30 season.

Booker and the Suns will be entering the 2025-26 season that saw several roster and front office changes in the offseason.

After the Suns hired Brian Gregory as their new general manager and Jordan Ott as their new head coach, the roster went through a major overhaul with the team trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, No. 10 overall pick Khaman Maluach and five second-round picks. The Suns also moved on from guard Bradley Beal after agreeing to a contract buyout.
