Southampton have agreed a fee of £42m to sell starlet Tyler Dibling to Premier League Everton, according to Alex Crook via X.
Southampton have had a summer filled with noise around their star players after relegation from the Premier League. Several of the Saints players have left the club including Aaron Ramsdale and Kyle Walker-Peters.
One player that Southampton supporters expected to have plenty of suitors is Tyler Dibling. Premier League Crystal Palace and Everton have been very keen throughout the summer though the latters interest cooled after they seemingly could not agree a deal.

Now, though that no longer seems to be the case. According to Alex Crook, via X, Everton look to have agreed a deal with Southampton to buy Dibling before the window closes.
The deal for Dibling appears to be around £42m. It will see Dibling become the second most valuable sale from the Championship, only behind Romeo Lavia who left the Saints to join Chelsea.

Amid speculation around his future Dibling has hardly featured for Southampton so far this season. His only appearance has come against Ipswich Town, coming on with just eight minutes left in the tie.
Tyler Dibling was one of few shining lights for Southampton last year
Dibling was one of Southampton’s standout performers last season. Making his breakthrough into the first team at just 18 came as a surprise, but he adapted to Premier League football impressively.

Over the past year he has attracted interest from several major clubs across Europe. Everton could provide the perfect platform for him to continue his development after such a good breakout year.
He represents a signing full of quality and long-term potential for Everton and will likely get plenty of minutes, especially given their poor showing on opening day against Leeds United. For Southampton, however, his departure would be a significant blow—though if they receive a fee close to their valuation, it could give Will Still valuable resources to reinvest.

Major sales cannot effect Southampton’s decent start to the year
Southampton have had a pretty good start to life back in the Championship. The Saints have beaten big-spending Wrexham and drew with fellow relegated side Ipswich Town.
Will Still will be content with how life has started in the south. However, with the window coming to a close soon, Dibling is not the only player who could end up leaving the club.
Plenty of interest remains in Mateus Fernandes but he is not likely to force a move. Amid so much transfer talk, it will interesting to see how Still lines up against Stoke City.
