Three predictions for Bournemouth vs Wolves including a Hwang decision and busy day for the ref

Wolves look to get off the mark in the Premier League this weekend with a trip to Bournemouth, and we’ve come up with three big predictions for the match at Vitality Stadium.

Wolves’ first game of the new season was a difficult 90 minutes against a Man City side on top of their game. But their opponents for matchday two had a similarly tough outing against Liverpool last week.

History suggests Bournemouth away is a good fixture for Wolves, but that doesn’t make it a foregone conclusion by any means.

We’re in for an action-packed game, and going off recent history, here’s what we’re expecting.

Bournemouth vs Wolves will be a goal fest

As mentioned, both sides had to face off against elite competition on opening day, with Wolves facing Man City and Bournemouth taking on the reigning champions Liverpool. Four goals were conceded by both teams, pointing to some frailties in defence.

Bournemouth have lost their entire back line from last season, and they looked vulnerable at Anfield, while Wolves were aggressive with their press, but found little success.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Vitor Pereira was criticised for his defensive-minded selections in the forward line, but we think Wolves will have a bit more threat in the starting lineup this time around.

We should be in for a high-scoring, high-speed game. It would be a nice change from pre-season, that’s for sure.

Hwang Hee-chan won’t appear for Wolves against Bournemouth

Hwang Hee-chan has been at the centre of discussions with Crystal Palace this week, who are interested in bringing him in as Eberechi Eze’s exit is confirmed.

Wolves have voiced their reluctance to allow any more outgoings this summer, but given Hwang’s interest in a new challenge and more minutes, this is a deal that very well could go through.

Hwang hasn’t featured heavily in recent games, and there’s no reason why that should change now that he’s edging towards a move away.

The referee will be kept busy with lots of bookings

The last two meetings between these sides have seen someone sent off.

Most recently, it was Matheus Cunha after an altercation with Milos Kerkez at the end of extra time in the FA Cup, and before that, Illia Zabarnyi was shown red for a high tackle on Rayan Ait-Nouri.

While none of those involved will feature in this edition of the fixture, there has been a noticeable bite to it that could well carry on this weekend.

Referee Tom Bramall could be in for a long 90 minutes.
