Negotiations ‘appear to be progressing well’ for Brighton exit – Work ongoing for €6m deal

On Friday, journalist Alfredo Pedullà reported Fiorentina are pushing to sign Brighton & Hove Albion’s Tariq Lamptey this summer.

La Viola’s interest in the right-back, who can also operate as a wing back, is reported by others in Italy.

Saturday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports Fiorentina have identified the Brighton player as a potential backup for Dodo.

It’s claimed the Serie A side are ‘very interested’ in the 24-year-old and have initiated contact with the Seagulls.

Two months ago, the England-born Ghana international extended his contract with Fabian Hürzeler’s side until 2026. La Nazione explains why the Italian club are focusing on him.

They also report Fiorentina are looking at him as Dodo’s deputy and uncertainty around 19-year-old Niccolò Fortini. He hasn’t fully convinced manager Stefano Pioli and could be allowed to go out on loan.

La Nazione also states: ‘Lamptey stands out for his speed, technique, and adaptability, qualities that make him suitable for use on the left flank as well.’

Therefore, Fiorentina are looking to sign Lamptey, valued at €6m and they considered it to be a reasonable price.

Over at Gazzetta dello Sport, they relay claims made elsewhere about Fiorentina’s interest in the fullback and then provide their own take.

They also report Lamptey is seen as Dodo’s deputy and the ‘negotiations appear to be progressing well’. Gazzetta, however, haven’t made it clear if it’s Fiorentina’s negotiations with him, Brighton or both.

To sum it up, Fiorentina are working on signing Lamptey for €6m, after making contact with Brighton.
