Real Madrid are closely monitoring Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, according to a report published on AS. The London-based club would not let Wharton leave for less than €80 million, so Real Madrid would only try to sign him this summer if they actually manage to sell Rodrygo, per that same report.
Wharton is a creative midfielder whose playing profile would fit what the team currently needs, and he’s also still 21 years old. All things considered, it would make sense for Real Madrid to go after him, even at that price. His presence on the roster would increase Xabi Alonso’s options to build his ideal squad, and the team might be lacking some creativity from its midfield line at this point in time.
Either way, it seems unlikely that Real Madrid will try to negotiate a deal for Wharton just a few days ahead of the transfer deadline, so take this report with a grain of salt.
