Alexander Isak given three-point plan to stage controversial Newcastle United comeback

Almost 700 Newcastle United supporters wrote to NewcastleWorld to have their say on Alexander Isak.

Hundreds of NewcastleWorld readers, including match-going fans, Newcastle United supporters’ clubs, and social media influencers, have weighed in on Alexander Isak - the hot topic dominating discussions on Tyneside.

Eddie Howe was just as damning as the club’s statement earlier this week at his press conference yesterday. Replacing Callum Wilson is the only focus at St James’ Park at present - dropping a huge clue that Isak might be forced to pick his bottom lip off the floor and stick it out in black-and-white stripes for another season.

But what would it look like if Isak returned? Geordies are stubborn by nature - so redemption will not be easy for the sulking Swede.

For some, the bridges have already burned. Others are more forgiving. NewcastleWorld pitched “What would it take for you to welcome Alexander Isak back into the fold at Newcastle United?” across Facebook, X and TikTok - with 667 fans writing back.

The most popular response, from X user @Dxnwxlls, gained 481 likes but was, unsurprisingly, satirical. He wrote: “Play against Liverpool, score a hat-trick, celebrate by flipping off the Liverpool fans, individually give everyone Newcastle fan at the game £1,000, live stream himself slapping his agent and then post a pic on Instagram of him s******* on a Liverpool kit.”

Isak may have been given the perfect solution to regain GOAT status at St James’ Park but not even the most rose-tinted Toon fan could envisage this translating into reality. Newcastle United Supporters Club (NUSC) gave a more measured - and almost equally as favoured - take on the Isak saga.

“An apology,” NUSC wrote. “Something like ‘Sorry to the gaffer, my teammates and the supporters. I know I have to rebuild trust and I’ll do it with my performances on the pitch’.

“And then a **** load of goals and positive all-round performances. He’s got to really graft for the team.”

YouTube figures like Lewis Bowden and Adam Pearson reached out, with suggestions of snake-themed Wor Flags tifos and a return against Liverpool on Monday - both non-starters - suggested. If Isak were to wade through the humorous or vitriolic comments, he would find plenty of food for thought from supporters genuinely offering him a path to redemption.

Play next Monday at St James Park but we all know he won’t be doing that 😂

X account @geordeano gave Isak a pathway to reclaiming his former status. He wrote: “A full and proper public apology. Sacking of his agent. Time spent with the food bank and the Foundation. Score 15 goals by Christmas and he can have a release clause added to his contract to leave summer 2026.”

As expected, a vocal section of the Newcastle support simply do not wish to see him again. That view is understandable, with few showing as little respect as Isak to the great institution loved by millions around the world.

Nothing, never want him to ever wear the black and white shirt under any circumstances

— Ian Reay (@ianreay6) August 21, 2025

the correct answer is nothing

why should he get the privilege to play with the players who actually want to be here?

Nothing, no integration, no way back. Trains alone till January or next summer where he's sold to a team abroad.

I'm never singing his name, wearing his shirt, or idolising him again. If Newcastle United score a goal I'll celebrate but not for him, for the team. I want him gone. #NUFC https://t.co/Pbb3DeqT1B

An overriding theme was the discontent shown towards Isak’s agent, Vlado Lemic, for his role in the saga. High-profile figures like Alan Shearer have even called upon the 25-year-old to reconsider his adviser’s position.

Parting company with Lemic, combined with a heartfelt apology and a hatful of goals, gives Isak a three-point plan to Newcastle adulation once again. Whether his focus shifts to rebuilding those bridges depends on the final nine days of the window.
