Crystal Palace settle salary split – Winger loan agreed with no purchase option

Crystal Palace’s stance on Matheus França is now clearer, with fresh reports from Brazil confirming that his move to Vasco da Gama will be a straight loan, with no purchase option attached.

In our earlier coverage we highlighted information from Itatiaia Esporte, who revealed that the 21-year-old had already agreed terms with Vasco and was due in Rio de Janeiro for medicals.

Globo Esporte have since added more detail, pointing out that Palace were never willing to lose the youngster permanently, which explains why the deal is limited to a temporary spell.

Another hurdle has also been cleared according to their story: the two clubs have reached an agreement on how to share França’s salary during the loan.

The exact breakdown hasn’t been made public, but settling this issue means the transfer is now firmly on track.

França is expected to arrive in Rio in the coming days, with Palace keeping a close eye on how he develops before returning to London next year.
