From Sweden: Belief new Newcastle United deal + clause is way out of Alexander Isak’s Liverpool drama

A new deal with a specific buy-out clause could be the solution to the Alexander Isak drama between Newcastle United and Liverpool.

That’s according to [Aftonbladet](https://www.aftonbladet.se/) and journalist Simon Bank, who thinks he has the answer to the drama that would suit everyone.

The Swedish striker currently remains out of the picture at St James Park, having refused to play for the club amid claims of broken promises about a transfer this summer.

He and his entourage insist that he was promised a big move this year, but Newcastle have denied the existence of any such promise. The situation has come to a head after Liverpool made their first bid for him earlier in the summer. That was rejected and they are yet to make a second offer.

Isak has essentially gone on strike to try and force through the move, something which has not changed Newcastle’s stance as yet.

They are refusing to be forced into a move, with manager Eddie Howe publically hopeful that Isak can be re-integrated into the squad even if he doesn’t get his transfer wish.

The Swedish media has remained conspicuously tight-lipped on the matter but now Aftonbladet have popped their head above the parapet, suggesting a deal that could suit everyone.

“We have been able to see Alexander Isak’s SUV from two hundred different angles in recent days,” he wrote.

“He has declared war on his employer, who has fought back but has been careful not to burn any bridges. It is not just about billions, but about law and a lot of prestige.

“My guess is that the likely outcome is that a new agreement, with a clear buyout clause, is worked out before September 1. Then Newcastle will not appear to be blackmailed, while Isak opens the door to a January transfer. Everyone happy, no one happy.”
