Graham Potter is really struggling at West Ham United.
The 50-year-old was appointed as the Irons boss in January this year, replacing Julen Lopetegui, who had his problems at the London Stadium as well.
West Ham weren’t great last season, and big defeats in each of their first two games of the new campaign have put immense pressure on the Hammers boss.
TBR Football exclusively revealed that following Chelsea’s 5-1 win, West Ham are contemplating whether to sack Potter right now.
If they do, they could have the chance to appoint a fantastic replacement.
Nuno Espirito Santo could become available for West Ham if they sack Graham Potter
Graham Potter and Nuno Espirito Santo have had very contrasting last 12 months.
The West Ham boss holds the worst win rate out of any manager in the club’s history, while Santo became the first manager to help Nottingham Forest qualify for a European competition in three decades.
Despite that, both managers are at risk of getting sacked.
TBR Football revealed that Santo and Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis have had disagreements lately, and that could lead to the 51-year-old’s dismissal.
If Santo gets sacked and West Ham part ways with Potter, we think the Hammers should do everything they can to appoint the Portuguese tactician as their new manager.
Many people predicted that Forest would be in a relegation battle in the 2024/25 season, but Santo led them to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League.
Gary Neville even named Santo as his Manager of the Season ahead of Arne Slot, hailing the ‘absolutely sensational’ job he has done at the City Ground. (Sky Sports)
Nobody would have expected Santo’s job to be at risk at this stage of the season. However, if he does face the sack, West Ham should view this as a golden opportunity to appoint him.

Graham Potter vs Nuno Espirito Santo’s stats in the Premier League compared
Both Potter and Santo have significant experience in the Premier League.
The Englishman managed Brighton and Hove Albion, Chelsea and now West Ham, while Santo was at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves before landing the Nottingham Forest job.
How do their numbers in the Premier League fare when compared to one another?
Games Wins Draws Losses Goals scored Goals conceded Points per game Win rate
Nuno Espirito Santo 182 72 44 66 232 238 1.43 39 per cent
Graham Potter 162 47 55 60 179 201 1.21 29 per cent
Santo’s numbers are far superior to those of Potter, and the job he has done at Forest is the perfect blueprint for West Ham.
Yes, his style of football will not be very entertaining, but he will keep West Ham safe, and could take them on the same trajectory as he has taken the Reds over the last 12 months.
It remains to be seen what David Sullivan and co will decide, but we think Santo is exactly what West Ham need right now to bring some stability back to the club.
