Belief Newcastle United aren’t going to cough up for player – Not enough time left in window

Newcastle United are unlikely to cough up the sums required to sign Davide Frattesi from Inter Milan this summer, and there’s not enough time left in the window to negotiate a deal either.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that there is little desire at Inter to negotiate with Newcastle for Barella anyway.

The newspaper explains that amid the drama of the summer transfer window and the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu falling out with everyone, the Italian contingent at the club have remained quiet.

There have been no departure or transfer requests and that includes Frattesi. He had the opportunity to depart this summer as Newcastle showed an interest.

They, though, didn’t show any desire to reach the €40m requested by Inter Milan and there’s a belief that they’re unlikely to do so between now and the end of the transfer window.

There was also an opportunity for the midfielder to be linked into the deal for Ademola Lookman but that never happened either.

The focus was mainly on Newcastle, but they never got anywhere near the €40m requested by Inter or showed any willingness to spend it either and it seems the whole affair has now been discarded.
