West Ham have signed Swiss international Leila Wandeler from French champions OL Lyonnes.
The 19-year-old forward arrives in East London on a three-year deal after a successful summer representing Switzerland at Euro 2025. She will wear the no. 27 shirt.
“It feels great to be signing for West Ham United,” she said. “This is a big moment for me so early on in my career – to be moving to London, which is my favourite city in the world, and to play in the best league against teams with great quality. When I first spoke with Rehanne, she said that I will feel at home straight away. I can already see West Ham as one big family and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
“I’m a very creative player on the pitch. I like to use my technical ability and attack one-versus-one. I’ve seen the development of the young players at the Club and they shine. I’m looking forward to learning from the players around me and giving everything to this team.”
The young star started her career at FC Corminboeuf. She joined Lyon in 2023 and made three appearances for the senior team. She made her international debut in Switzerland’s final warm-up match before the 2025 European Championships and was subsequently named in Pia Sundhage’s squad.
“I’m delighted to welcome Leila to West Ham United,” manager Rehanne Skinner said. “Leila is an exciting young player with a lot of potential. She has a great attitude and an impressive maturity for a player of such a young age. Playing in your first senior international tournament at the age of 19, in your home country, is no mean feat. But I thought Leila showed her quality throughout the Euros and, for me, was one of the breakout stars of the tournament.”
