Jorgen Strand Larsen will start for Wolverhampton Wanderers today in their Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The 25-year-old has been strongly linked to a move to Newcastle United this week, with talk of a £60m pricetag being placed on his head.

Wolves do not want to sell Strand Larsen so late in the window, but could be open to a deal if the price is right. The player himself is said to be interested in the prospect of playing Champions League football on Tyneside.

However, unlike Alexander Isak, he has continued to train and play with Wolves this week, with manager Vitor Pereira confirming on Friday that the striker was fully focused on the Molineux side.

Newcastle are despeate for extra firepower before the transfer window closes, having seen Callum Wilson leave on a free transfer and now Isak withdraw his services as he looks to engineer a move to Liverpool.

United have been linked with Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson, who was again left out of the Enzo Maresca's squad for Friday night's 5-1 victory over West Ham.

A £40m bid for Brentford's Yoane Wissa was turned down by the Bees, but there have been claims in the West Midlands that United have sounded Wolves out over a move for Stand Larsen via intermediateries.

Speaking ahead of today's game at Bournemouth, Wolves head coach Pereira said: “He is a very important player for us - I haven't spoken with him about it.

"I watch him in training and he’s committed. He likes to win and he is a fighter. He is preparing himself to play tomorrow against Bournemouth."
