Brentford have made their decision about Yoane Wissa ahead of the club’s Premier League fixture against Aston Villa today.

The London side welcome Aston Villa to the Gtech Community Stadium this afternoon, as they look to bounce back from a disappointing opening day defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Bryan Mbuemo and Yoanne Wissa formed a deadly partnership at Brentford, but with Mbuemo already securing a move away to Manchester United, it now appears that Wissa is on the verge of departing too.

A potential move that could mean big things for Liverpool.

Wissa is on the verge of signing for Newcastle United, and the decision has been made that he will not feature in Brentford’s game today.

Craig Hope has announced the news on X, with his post stating:

“Yoane Wissa is not expected to be part of Brentford squad today. Striker still hoping to join NUFC in coming days.”

Newcastle United have been aiming to strengthen their attack all summer long and there is a feeling that if they can get the Wissa deal over the line, that will open the door for Alexander Isak to depart to Liverpool.

Isak has, as we all know, been desperately pushing for a move to the Reds for sometime now, and it is clear that his future hangs in the hands of his club and whether they can find a replacement for him before the window shuts.

With Yoane Wissa seemingly closing in on a move to Newcastle, Alexander Isak will in turn feel positive about the prospect of his desired move to Liverpool finally becoming a reality.

Wissa has taken a similar approach to Isak in refusing to play for his club, and all parties involved will be hoping for an eventual conclusion that makes everyone happy.

The Congolese forward did not feature in Brentford’s Premier League opener either and his determination to push through a move to the Magpies could lead to a domino falling that in turn allows Alexander Isak to become a Red. It is a story to definitely keep an eye on.
