Leeds United are leading the race to sign Dilane Bakwa.

Leeds have recruited well so far this summer, but concerns were starting to grow over the lack of attacking options at Daniel Farke’s disposal.

A lot of those concerns have since been subdued by Noah Okafor’s move to Leeds, though there is still some work to be done.

Leeds are said to be at the front of the queue to sign Bakwa from Strasbourg, in what would be a remarkably ambitious swoop.

How much would Dilane Bakwa cost Leeds?

Leeds have already spent a fair amount of money this summer, though they would have to increase that significantly if they are to bring Bakwa to Elland Road.

Sacha Tavolieri reported that it could cost upwards of £30million to sign the Frenchman from Strasbourg, with Nottingham Forest also keen on the winger.

Via Capology, Bakwa earns around £11,000 per week for the Ligue 1 outfit, though that would likely have to be increased significantly if Leeds are to tempt him to Elland Road.

Bakwa has just under two years remaining on his contract in France, and that could somewhat play into Leeds’ hands.

While Strasbourg are in no immediate rush to sell, they will be aware of the discount other clubs would likely get on him if they were to pursue a move next summer instead.

Who is Dilane Bakwa and what would he bring to Leeds?

Bakwa is a serious, serious player.

At just 22 years old, he has already made 68 appearances for Strasbourg, scoring 11 and assisting 18 across all competitions.

He is a direct, pacey winger who has the physical attributes needed to thrive in Premier League football.

The Frenchman is known for his willingness to run at defenders and create something out of nothing, which is something Leeds lack on their right flank.

If Leeds can pull this deal off, it would be a serious statement of intent and certainly rival the signing of Anton Stach for their best piece of business.
