Shedeur Sanders is back in the spotlight ahead of the Cleveland Browns' final preseason contest, a duel with the Los Angeles Rams. He wouldn't have it any other way.
The Colorado product proved he could find success at the preseason level in his maiden match, completing 14-of-23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns vs. the Carolina Panthers. It was just the sort of outing Sanders had hoped for since he heard his name called in the fifth-round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
After a one-week hiatus due to an oblique injury, Sanders readies for another close-up. The implications of his display vs. Los Angeles in the final week of preseason could go a long way in determining parts of Cleveland's QB pecking order.
Sanders has some competition for places in the Browns organization, battling Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Tyler Huntley for the starting gig.
Will Sanders be named starter? That remains to be seen. But he should get some serious burn vs. the Rams -- giving him an opportunity to stake a claim for the prize.
