Luka Doncic is about to put a stamp on revenge tour Lakers fans won't want to miss

The official start to EuroBasket 2025 is right around the corner, with the first game of the tournament that is not a tune-up set to take place on Aug. 27. Luka Doncic will need to wait one more day for his first official action on Aug. 28, which will commence the beginning of his revenge tour.

Slovenia will open the EuroBasket tournament against Poland in Group D play. The country is not expected to be one of the top contenders at the competition, but with a superstar the caliber of Doncic, nothing can ever truly be ruled out.

One thing that can be guaranteed, the Los Angeles Lakers point guard is sure to put on a show. Doncic will undeniably be the best player on almost any court he steps onto that does not include Nikola Jokic or Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The stage is set. If the tune-up games are any indicator, Doncic is a man who should be feared with every movement on the court.

EuroBasket 2025 will offer a preview of what awaits the Lakers

Doncic's body transformation has been all anyone can talk about when discussing the Lakers. It is a subject that still remains a hot topic to this day. NBA insider Jake Fischer could not resist touching upon it during his last live stream for Bleacher Report.

"Luka Doncic is looking pretty d*** good for Slovenia," Fischer commented. "How well he can fare in the upcoming EuroBasket tournament is going to be really fascinating to watch. ... Is he going to go full throttle and just breathe fire throughout EuroBasket?"

Fischer mentioned the curiosity lies in the games starting to matter. Doncic has already looked good in exhibition outings leading up to the tournament. Now, the event will shift gears to the real deal.

The third volume of power rankings done by Igor Curkovic of FIBA Basketball ranked Slovenia 10th among the countries involved. Doncic will need to do some heavy lifting to keep his squad on par with some of the real juggernauts of the competition.

Serbia, who just bullied Slovenia in a tune-up game, rank as the current favorites to win EuroBasket 2025. Germany and France trail behind at second and third, respectively.

Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Turkey, Greece, and even Finland all stand between those teams and where Slovenia is currently placed. If Doncic is able to elevating his group above their current projection, that should offer plenty of optimism about what the generational superstar can do for the Lakers.
