The Detroit Lions made a roster move Friday afternoon, announcing they have released offensive lineman Keaton Sutherland from the Reserve/Injured list after reaching an injury settlement.

Sutherland’s time in Detroit was brief. Signed earlier this month following the team’s preseason matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, he was brought in after the Lions placed Colby Sorsdal on injured reserve. Unfortunately, Sutherland was injured during just his second practice with the team, cutting his opportunity short.

The 28-year-old guard, a former Texas A&M standout, has appeared in six career NFL games with two starts, spending time with the Bengals, Dolphins, and Lions.

With the move, the Lions continue to shuffle their depth up front as training camp injuries test their offensive line reserves.
