The Kansas City Chiefs wrapped up their preseason with a loss to the Chicago Bears, closing Friday’s contest at Arrowhead Stadium with a 29-27 loss. While the victory for the Bears, what truly stole the spotlight was Patrick Mahomes’ presence on the field and his energy on the sidelines.
Unlike some NFL starting quarterbacks who traditionally sit out the preseason finale, Mahomes suited up and made an impact early. It wasn’t just his throws that had fans buzzing as Mahomes kept the sideline alive throughout the game.
Here’s a look at fans reacting to Mahomes showing passion during the preseason matchup.
Patrick Mahomes Has Fans Buzzing During the Chiefs Preseason Finale vs. Bears

Another noticed his enthusiasm writing, “He’s lovin it.”

“Mahomes needs a chair,” a fan said.
“It’s easy when Cooper Dejean and the Eagles aren’t on the field 🦅,” another wrote.
For Chiefs fans, the moment was a reminder that Mahomes’ competitive fire doesn’t wait for the regular season.
Patrick Mahomes Shines in Preseason but Slips in NFL Rankings
Mahomes gave Kansas City fans exactly what they wanted in the Chiefs’ preseason finale. On one notable play, Mahomes scrambled to find JuJu Smith-Schuster for a 19-yard gain, providing a spark during the preseason.
Yet, despite moments like these, Mahomes is no longer viewed as the league’s undisputed best player. Once ranked No. 1 in the NFL’s Top 100 list, Mahomes dropped to fourth in 2024, even after winning another Super Bowl MVP.
Mahomes continues to face competition for the honor of the NFL’s top quarterback. Joe Burrow led the NFL in nearly every passing category, while Lamar Jackson delivered a career-best season with 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns—numbers many felt were MVP-worthy.
Still, for Mahomes, the perception matters little as the star chases another Lombardi Trophy. Mahomes and the Chiefs are looking for a bit of redemption after the team’s blowout loss to the Eagles in the Super Bowl.
