Stiller transfer truth 'revealed' as Man United aim for midfield addition

Manchester United are reportedly not currently in discussions with Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, with the German unlikely to switch clubs before the end of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old's future has recently been called into question, with Man United said to be keen on the midfielder, while Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in his services.

There have recently been claims that Man United are in talks over a deal for the midfielder, as the Red Devils look to improve in that area of the field before the end of this summer's transfer window.

However, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man United are not currently holding internal or external talks over a move for Stiller before the end of the summer market.

The report claims that Stiller is set to spend at least one more season at Stuttgart, who have the four-time Germany international on a contract until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.

Stiller came through the youth system at Bayern Munich, progressing to first-team level in 2020, but he only featured on three occasions for the Munich giants before departing for Hoffenheim.

The midfielder made 52 appearances for Hoffenheim ahead of a switch to Stuttgart, and he has featured on 82 occasions for his current side, scoring five goals and registering 17 assists in the process.

Last season, Stiller scored four goals and registered 11 assists in 47 games for Stuttgart, including one goal in eight appearances in the Champions League.

The midfielder is expected to leave his current club at some point in the near future, but a departure before the end of this summer's market is seen as highly unlikely.

Man United are still working to sign a new central midfielder before the end of this summer's transfer window, but they are currently focusing on securing the services of Royal Antwerp's Senne Lammens.

The Red Devils are expected to pay in the region of £17m to sign Lammens, who is expected to battle Andre Onana for the number one goalkeeping spot during the 2025-26 campaign.

Lammens, 23, has kept 12 clean sheets in 64 matches for Antwerp in all competitions, and he is viewed as one of the best young goalkeepers in Belgium.
