Victoria Pelova opened the scoring for us in our 4-3 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in Borehamwood on Saturday.
She got on the end of a long ball over the top from Emily Fox and raced into the 18-yard box before scoring at the near post.
“I just enjoy being in front of the ball,” she said after the game. “For me, it doesn't matter where I play in midfield. It was a good ball from Foxy, so I was really happy.
“We were all excited to be with the fans again. Borehamwood looks good, the grass looks perfect, so we were really excited to be here.”

Asked about what she’s trying to get out of our pre-season matches, including Wednesday’s visit of West Ham United, Pelova added: “It's different for every group, because the [UEFA Women’s Euro 2025] finalists came in later, so they need to just get fitness.
“Some other girls, we are here a bit longer, so we focus on different things, so it's a bit different for everyone, but it's going to come together.
“I think we had a good week in Germany. It was good to see the girls there. You talk a lot with them. I always like seeing our new signings girls.”
