Wolves issue Jorgen Strand Larsen update after being spotted ‘frustrated’ vs Bournemouth

Following the match between Wolves and Bournemouth, Vitor Pereira was asked during his post-match press conference about the reaction of Jorgen Strand Larsen when he was substituted.

After a relatively quiet 78 minutes against Bournemouth, Jorgen Strand Larsen was taken off and didn’t look happy.

Some thought he was simply frustrated over the poor performance displayed by him and his teammates, but according to Vitor Pereira, there’s another reason.

Jorgen Strand Larsen was frustrated about a pain in his Achilles tendon

Likely hoping for some transfer-related gossip, one journalist asked what happened with Strand Larsen as he came off the pitch.

The Norwegian has been a central figure in the striker frenzy of the last couple of weeks, with Newcastle interested in his talents.

He was visibly upset as he left the pitch, kicking a water bottle on his way over to the bench and sitting with his head in his hands.

Pereira cleared things up though, revealing that he was frustrated about a pain in his Achilles that had been getting worse since last week, which must have flared up during the second half.

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s pain isn’t considered a serious injury by Vitor Pereira

After clearing up the source of Strand Larsen’s frustration, Pereira clarified that although he was in pain, they weren’t overly concerned about it.

That will be music to fans’ ears, who would’ve begun to picture how this already bland Wolves attack would look without Strand Larsen up top.

It’s the very reason these Newcastle links are such a source of concern around Molineux.

Hopefully, the player who scored 14 Premier League goals last season can shake off this knock and get back to his brilliant best.
