Bruno Fernandes exit could'green light'Carlos Baleba transfer and one more Man United deal

Bruno Fernandes is said to be attracting interest from Al-Ittihad.

Bruno Fernandes is reportedly drawing interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad - and his potential exit could provide a significant boost for when it comes to their transfer kitty.

The Sun reported Al-Ittihad have held discussions with Fernandes' representatives - and they were described as positive. The midfielder is said to be "open" to the move - and is understood to have requested a contract worth approximately £33million-a-year.

Meanwhile, United have been busy in the summer transfer market, looking to strengthen their midfield. The club has been linked with several would-be targets - including , Adam Wharton and Morten Sporting CP captain Hjulmand.

Although that doesn't necessarily mean their captain, Fernandes, will be leaving - a potential departure would, of course, provide them with a significant financial boost, freeing up funds that could be reinvested into their squad or used to secure high-profile targets.

On Baleba, the club's hierarchy have opted to wait (at least) another year before trying to get a deal over the line. and are adamant Baleba is not for sale.

As for Wharton, it was previously reported that Crystal Palace valued Wharton at £60million. However, the latest figures from the suggest the England player's market value is much closer to €32million (£27.7million) to €37million (£32million).

However, even at that £60million fee, that figure remains far below the valuation United would need to meet to sign Baleba. Wharton, who cost the Eagles £18million - in 2024 - has continued to improve significantly since then.

Although no official figures have been disclosed regarding what Al-Ittihad might pay for Fernandes, several high-profile players have previously moved to the Saudi Pro League for substantial fees.

Earlier this summer, The Manchester Evening News reported that . His agent, Miguel Pinho, held talks with the Saudi outfit over a proposed £100million transfer - with United leaving the door open for a possible departure.

Should a transfer go through, for a similar fee, it would help fund the signing of a new midfielder - potentially clearing the way for deals for Baleba and/or Wharton. The transfer window in Saudi Arabia closes later than in England, on Wednesday, September 10.
