Crystal Palace are the latest side said to be eyeing up a move for promising young Chelsea star Josh Acheampong, according to Caught Offside.
The 19-year-old defender has caught the eye of a number of teams this summer, with the likes of Manchester City taking an interest in him, but now Oliver Glasner's side are also weighing up a possible approach for him.
Acheampong came through the ranks at Chelsea's and signed his first professional contract with the Blues back in January 2024. He then made his senior debut in May 2024, just days before his 18th birthday. After a handful of appearances last campaign, he started Chelsea's opening game of the current season against Palace and played the full 90 minutes as the two teams engaged in a 0-0 draw.
His efforts in the backline have caught the attention of the Eagles and they're now interested in bringing the youngsters to Selhurst Park before the transfer window slams shut.

While he's still only played 15 times for Chelsea across all competitions to start his professional career, Acheampong has already caught the eye of a number of top sides and Palace have now joined that list.
They face a tough battle luring him away from Stamford Bridge, though, as Caught Offside reported that Enzo Maresca and the Blues are actually keen to keep a hold of the 'phenomenal' defender and consider him a key part of their long-term plans going forward.
According to the report, the only move that Chelsea would consider is a loan spell at Strasbourg in Ligue 1, who are also owned by the BlueCo Group. As things stand, Acheampong is said to be happy at Stamford Bridge and he isn't expected to push for a move away anytime soon.
Palace are facing potentially losing club captain, and star centre-back, Marc Guehi before the transfer window closes at the end of the month and are looking at a number of possible replacements. They've already been linked with a move for Club Brugge starlet Joel Ordonez, and now also have Acheampong on their radar.
