Report: Everton and West Ham in transfer battle for exciting Barcelona talent

Everton are in desperate need of reinforcement in an area, and the perfect option might have become available.

It’s been a successful window for David Moyes and Everton, but there are still positions that need attention.

Following the 1-0 defeat to Leeds United on the opening matchday, the Toffees still clearly need more additions.

Moyes said Everton ‘have money to spend’ and The Friedkins will certainly back whoever the Scotsman wants.

Now, a very exciting talent from Barcelona has emerged, and Lamine Yamal has a close bond with him.

Everton battling West Ham for Barcelona’s right-back Hector Fort

There are still two positions that Moyes is after, with a right back and central midfielder on his mind.

This is where 19-year-old defender Hector Fort comes in, as it looks like the La Masia graduate is searching for some game time.

Spanish outlet SPORT report that there is interest from the Premier League, as Everton and West Ham are willing to formalize a loan for the full-back, who has looked very impressive, which is no surprise coming from Barca’s academy.

Yamal might have taught him a thing or two, as it’s widely known that the duo are close friends, but Fort is clearly desperate for the chance to prove his worth.

The Toffees require a right back after their unnatural back line against Leeds, and Fort has the perfect credentials.

To break onto the scene at age 17 doesn’t come as a shock with Fort at Barcelona, but he is seeking a major role.

West Ham’s interest will provide competition, but the Blues will look like a much more intriguing option after this transfer window.

James Tarkowski has hinted at Europe for Everton, and signing someone of Fort’s quality could be the way forward, as his passing is top-notch, but he hasn’t had much game time to show this.

Moyes needs more attacking outlets from his flanks, and looking at the youngster’s portfolio, he looks to be the perfect choice.

It’s clear that Moyes wants overlapping full-backs, and Fort does give vibes of the attacking type from defence.
