Loop stepped into a challenging situation after the Ravens parted ways with longtime kicker Justin Tucker earlier this year.
The rookie finished his preseason slate with a 9-of-11 record on field goal attempts. His most impressive stretch came from 50 yards and beyond, where he converted five of six attempts.
The 61-yard connection against the Commanders served as his longest make and demonstrated the leg strength that caught Baltimore’s attention during the draft process.
Head coach John Harbaugh wasted little time making his decision official after the 31-3 victory.
