Eddie Howe has sent a message to the Newcastle United fans ahead of their first Premier League game at St James’ Park against Liverpool.

Newcastle United take on Liverpool in their first home game of the Premier League season on Monday night. And while the game should be exciting in its own right, the ongoing transfer saga involving Liverpool and Alexander Isak has made tensions between the two clubs reach a boiling point.

The game has come at a brilliant time, with the atmosphere expected to be brilliant, but head coach Eddie Howe has sent a warning to his players ahead of the first game between the two sides since the Carabao Cup final.

Eddie Howe expects an ‘electric’ St James’ Park for Newcastle United vs Liverpool

Howe has always been an individual who expects a great atmosphere from the Newcastle fans. In February, Howe called for Newcastle fans to make noise before the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal.
St James’ Park was the loudest it has ever been when PSG came to town. If the fans can even recreate just a bit of that atmosphere going, the Magpies will surely have the advantage.

In his pre-match press conference, Howe sent a message to the Newcastle fans and his players for the Liverpool game.
“The first home game is always going to be electric,” he said.
“Under the lights, evening games are always really special for us. I have no doubt this will be a really passionate display from the home support.
“We need to use that, but not be reckless with it. We’ve got to concentrate and deliver our game plan, but using the energy from the crowd will be vital for us.”
Newcastle United must not get caught up in the moment against Liverpool
A win against Liverpool would show that Newcastle are still a big player in the Premier League, despite their woes in the summer transfer window.
There has been a lot of talk of players forgetting the game plan and letting their emotions go, but that simply cannot happen.
Newcastle’s players like Guimaraes and Joelinton are known for wearing their hearts on their sleeves, regularly being booked for getting stuck into games.
It is down to Howe to keep the two Brazilians in line and focus on the main objective, securing the three points.
Isak will be nowhere near St James’ Park for the Liverpool game, but he will surely have his eyes glued to the action from elsewhere.
