“I think they will…” – Mikel Arteta gives Leeds United relegation verdict after 5-0 rout

Before the game, Daniel Farke said his Leeds side would not change their style of play. And it worked for most part of the first half. Despite some sloppy play from the whites, they managed to stay in the game for the first half hour.

Despite his side having a dominant game against the Whites, Mikel Arteta had some good things to say about Leeds United.

“I think so (they will survive relegation). I am very complimentary of them. What I love is they will maintain that philosophy from Monday. We all know the people/fans they have behind them.”

There were spells in the game especially in the first half, where Daniel Farke’s side looked like they had the game under control. But unfortunately they were punished for their mistakes, showing the gap in quality at the Premier League level.

Gary Neville tears into Daniel Farke for his team selection

Former Manchester United player Gary Neville was very critical of Daniel Farke’s team selection on Saturday. To him, Leeds could have done a much better job using their options off the bench.

“I think that front three who have done so well in the Championship, if you ask Leeds fans I think they would mostly say they need more up front.

“You look at the players they brought on, even Nmecha coming on can hold the ball up better and the manager has to go with those players for games like these.

“Daniel Farke’s selection today was never going to work with the style they came to play with, it is worrying he thought that was the way to go.”
