Eberechi Eze has delivered a heartfelt farewell message to Crystal Palace supporters following his £67.5 million transfer to Arsenal, thanking the club and its fans for playing a pivotal role in his career.

The 27-year-old England international completed his move to the Gunners on Saturday and took to Instagram to reflect on his five years at Selhurst Park, where he emerged as one of Palace’s most influential players.

“Five years, man. Crazy. It feels like just yesterday I was walking through the doors joining from QPR,” Eze wrote. “The day you gave me the chance to realise my dream of playing in the Premier League, for South London’s biggest club.”

Eze spoke movingly about the highs and lows of his Palace journey, from overcoming a torn Achilles to scoring the decisive goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City earlier this year. “The love you have all shown me, the way you have supported me, and how we’ve stood together no matter what, these are things that will live in my heart forever,” he added.

The message struck a chord with Palace fans, many of whom hailed him as a modern club legend. Social media was flooded with tributes, with one supporter writing: “From QPR to FA Cup hero, Ebs gave us memories we’ll never forget.”

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish also paid tribute, describing Eze as both an “inspiration” and a “role model.” He said: “Eberechi’s journey is truly incredible: from being released from multiple clubs, to scoring the FA Cup final-winning goal, and helping bring the club its first major trophy in 164 years. He has been an incredible presence and will always be part of the Palace family.”

Since joining from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 for £17 million, Eze made 169 appearances, scoring 40 goals and providing 36 assists. His defining moment came in May, when his strike against Manchester City sealed Palace’s first-ever major trophy.

Eze was unveiled to Arsenal fans ahead of their 5-0 victory over Leeds United at the Emirates, where he was handed the iconic No. 10 shirt once worn by Dennis Bergkamp. Although ineligible to feature due to registration deadlines, he could make his debut against Liverpool at Anfield on August 31.

For the Greenwich-born star, once released by Arsenal’s academy at 13, the move represents the fulfillment of a boyhood dream. Now, he begins a new chapter under Mikel Arteta, who sees him as a key creative force in Arsenal’s push for silverware this season.
