The worst season’s start -ever-by any West Ham United manager has consequences. Eight goals and zero points after two games. Crucial days and weeks lie ahead for West Ham’s under fire manager [Graham Potter.](https://www.claretandhugh.info/picking-over-the-charred-debris-of-potters-positivity-west-ham-news/)
The Hammers’ manager’s own comments last night show he is totally realistic about what lies in store should results not turn for his poorly performing, outclassed and outrun West Ham side:
_“I know what comes with poor results and I accept that responsibility.”_
In their article _‘West Ham’s manager Graham Potter discovers how many games he has to save his job_‘ the **_[express.co.uk](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/2099252/West-Ham-Graham-Potter-job)_** claim they have the inside info on the doomsday clock ticking down for Potter at West Ham:
_“The embattled Hammers, who have conceded eight goals in their opening two Premier League fixtures following crushing defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea, face Wolves in Carabao Cup action on Tuesday evening._
_They subsequently visit Nottingham Forest ahead of the international break, and should they suffer defeats in both encounters, the hierarchy will have considerable deliberation during that fortnight before domestic football resumes”._
Which is in effect saying Potter has two games – the Carabao Cup game on Tuesday and the Premier League fixture against Forest – to save his job. Shades of the Julen Lopetegui series of ‘must-win’ games which lasted an excruciating three months with the odd win just delaying the inevitable conclusion.
I’m not sure Potter will have the same leniency shown to him after his 5 wins in 21 Premier League games: 5 wins in 22 might be the last straw.
