The Baltimore Ravens received a huge scare with quarterback Lamar Jackson, as he went down in training camp, leading many to panic about his potentially suffering a significant injury.
Conflicting reports came out, with one initially stating that Jackson suffered a hand or wrist injury. Following that report, the Ravens' representation cleared up the injury concerns, saying Jackson was "stepped on," and he was fine.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh doubled down on the stepped-on injury designation, and also stated that "prayers get answered." Clearly, losing Jackson to any sort of injury would be detrimental to the season.
Jackson has been kept out of practice due to the now-apparent leg injury he suffered when being stepped on, which he claimed was sore. The good news is the star quarterback has received a massive injury update from Harbaugh.
According to injury updates on NFL.com, Harbaugh revealed that Jackson will return to practice on Monday. Despite the odd nature of the reports surrounding Jackson's true injury, he will practice soon.
The preseason finale is this weekend for all 32 teams, and the regular season is just right around the corner. Jackson getting some healing time this week was probably necessary and a precaution so he could prepare for Week 1 the proper way.
Jackson and the Ravens should challenge for the AFC crown again this season, along with winning the AFC North. Without Jackson, Baltimore would be in all kinds of trouble.
Whether or not Jackson suffered a wrist injury along with a foot injury remains to be seen, but he is set to return to practice on Monday. Getting stepped on might also cause significant damage, and things could have gone far worse for the two-time MVP quarterback.
