Chelsea v AC Milan - Pre-Season Friendly

Young Tyrique George managed to carve out a surprisingly large role for himself last season, making 26 appearances across all competitions including eight in the Premier League. While most of his minutes came in the UEFA Conference League, he did play a crucial role in turning the season around in the final few weeks, with his late equalizing goal against Fulham at Craven Cottage in April.
But opportunities may be more limited for the 19-year-old this season following the big-money arrivals of Estêvão and Jamie Gittens, as well as João Pedro, who’s already made himself undroppable while demonstrating his versatility.
Enzo Maresca has always spoken highly of George, but also admitted recently that having only him and Gittens as the two options on the left wing won’t be good enough. Rumors earlier this month had also suggested that George might look to leave. So far, nothing has happened, though after being on the bench on opening day, the youngster was not even part of the matchday squad this weekend.
So here come the new rumors, including an exclusive claim from Fabrizio Romano that AS Roma have enquired about the “conditions” of a potential deal. La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Yahoo! Sport) are also reporting on this development, though they claim that it’s Chelsea who are offering the player to Roma. Same difference, I suppose, at the end of the day.
Roma had been hoping to sign Jadon Sancho, but the ex-Chelsea loanee rejected the £20m loan-to-buy move. Will they be more successful with Sancho’s former teammate?
