The fight-filled joint practice last Thursday involving the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks continues to be talked about, even after Saturday’s preseason matchup between the two teams at Lambeau Field.
It can be recalled thatPackers star right tackle Zach Tomwastossed off the field for his actions during the said practice. He was apparently caught throwing punches at Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV and cornerback Devon Witherspoon.
“It’s already disrespectful that they’re in our huddle,” Tom said on Thursday about what blew up his fuse (h/tBrady Henderson of ESPN), “and then somebody gets hit while we’re in the huddle, got to have some pride, you know?”

Matt LaFleur on pulling Zach Tom from Thursday’s joint practice vs Seahawks: “That’s just our rule, if you throw a punch. He was not the only person at fault. He’s just the one I saw. Then you watch it (on film), and you’re like, ‘Oh, a lot of people should’ve been pulled.’”
The heated practice battles with the Seahawks are all behind the Packers now, though. Tom and the rest of the team now turn their focus on Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season, as they will be locking horns with the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on Sept. 7.
